Which boiler is best for me?

This is a very bespoke question that is best asked directly, due to the fact that different boilers can suit different households. Please contact us and we will be able to advise you and suggest the best solutions.

What is the difference between a traditional boiler and a combi boiler?

A traditional boiler heats water that is typically circulated throughout the heating system and/or a hot water cylinder. The direction of the water flow is controlled by your heating controller, which opens and closes motorised valves. The domestic water inside the cylinder is indirectly heated by the system water flowing through a coil inside the cylinder. On the other hand, a combi boiler does not require a cylinder; instead, water is heated on demand through a plate heat exchanger within the boiler. Both systems have their own set of pros and cons, which we can discuss with you during a site visit.

How often should my boiler be serviced?

All gas appliances, most importantly gas boilers, should be serviced at least every 12 months, or sooner if advised by the manufacturer.

What pressure should my heating system be set at?

Most system boilers are designed to work at around 1.5bar. If you find that yours is a little higher, do not worry, on every boiler there should be a pressure relief valve fitted, ensuring the system will release any extra pressure in the event of it getting too high.
