I received a call from a customer asking for assistance, the boiler was not working and not lighting. The initial step in the diagnostic process involved examining the condensate drain. The remedy involved removing, inspecting and then cleaning the electrodes. Over time, electrodes can accumulate debris and corrosion, hindering their ability to generate a spark. Cleaning them restores their function and can often rectify an ignition failure without the need for replacement parts.

Once the electrodes were reassembled and the boiler was put back together, the system was tested to ensure it operated correctly. The repair was successful, and the boiler could ignite once again, restoring warmth to the home.
